Control valve
A control valve is used to regulate the amount of a circulating medium to a consuming unit. This can for example, be a mixing loop, a heat exchanger, or a fan coil. Control valves are normally supplied with a motor for opening or closing the valve.
The motors receive signals for adjusting the degree of opening via a connection to a BMS system, or decentral electronic control unit. Control valves can also be automatic. In this case, the valve has a built-in actuator which affects the valve's degree of opening. The actuator responds to a sensor, which measures temperature or pressure.
Grundfos supplies pumps for applications in buildings that manage flow limitation through the building's BMS system.
