Stable water level in the steam boiler and precise chemical dosing

A key issue in many boiler feed systems is an unstable water level in the steam boiler, which can result in poor steam quality and force the burner to use too much energy. 

Our application-specific solutions ensure perfect constant water levels, making them a smarter, simpler, and cheaper choice for you and your customers. Our CRE pumps use the MGE/MLE motor, which has an integrated frequency drive that includes the control logic required to keep the level constant in the boiler drum. This eliminates the need for an expensive modulating feed valve and the frequently required service.

In addition, with the MGE/MLE motor’s “Curve compensation” function, you don’t have to worry about unstable pump curves.

Just as critical is ensuring precise chemical dosing. Almost all steam boilers need to add chemicals, and often, feedwater chemicals are pre-mixed and added to the feedwater in an amount equal to the feedwater flow. By connecting the dosing pump with the MGE/MLE motor in the feed pump, we ensure that chemicals instead are dosed according to the amount of water feeding into the boiler, significantly reducing chemical use.

Connecting the analogue output of the CRE pump to the analogue input of the DDA dosing pumps makes it possible to add chemicals in a proportion that matches the feedwater flow. If no flow meter is installed in the feedwater line, flow estimation can be activated in our CRE pump. The dosing pump will be stopped if the feed pump is stopped to avoid “overdosing” of chemicals.
