Grundfos at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing
17-Jul-2008
This confirms Grundfos as one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of high technology pumps and pump systems.
A true melting pot
The Beijing National Stadium, more commonly known as the Bird’s Nest, is probably the most awe inspiring of all the venues. This incredible feat of architecture serves as the centrepiece for the 2008 Games. The National Stadium represents just one of the seventeen sites Grundfos has supplied to in Beijing.
Behind each of the different locations has been an underlying principle for Grundfos to put sustainability first in the form of better and more efficient pumps, and the focus has been on achieving major energy savings and environmental protection.
High efficiency
”Grundfos provided reliable and energy saving pumps, which met our unique specifications for the stadium. Grundfos’ strong service team offers the assurance that they will be able to solve any downtime issue efficiently and without affecting the operation of the stadium,” states Zhang Xin Ming, Head of Machinery & Electronic Division, Beijing City Construction Group.
Another memorable site is the National Aquatic Centre also known as the Water Cube, it employs water, in many guises, at its thematic centre. “Grundfos cares about the entire system, not only their pumps. Their careful system commissioning, and making sure all went well meant a great deal to me.” Says, Chen Chun Lei, Project Manager, China Construction First Division Constructing & Developing Company.
Numerous fields
The builders of the 2008 Summer Games have taken advantage of our numerous fields of application expertise including: water supply, heating, pressure boosting, fire fighting, wastewater, air conditioning, NOx reduction and dosing. The numerous venues illustrate the extent of the Grundfos range and sum up our values with the words: BE responsible - THINK ahead - INNOVATE. It is our responsibility, our foresight and our focus on creating ground-breaking solutions and ideas that have made us one of the world’s leading pump manufacturers – not only for these Summer Games - but every day.
