Een basisintroductie tot Service Overeenkomsten

Ontdek de voordelen van het aangaan van een service overeenkomst met Grundfos en krijg een overzicht van de verschillende service opties.

Whether you are dealing with industry, water utilities or commercial buildings, service is essential.

And the same applies to pumps. Just like you’d take your sportscar to the garage every once in a while, you must look after your pumps to ensure the best possible performance.

Regular servicing of your pumps will increase your peace of mind, it will reduce the risk of production downtime and it will improve your chances of running a fully optimised production.

In this module, we are going to take a look at Service Agreements and introduce you to the different service strategies that you can choose when working with Grundfos. Let’s get started.

In short, a service agreement is an extensive collaboration between Grundfos and you, the customer.

At Grundfos, we offer three different types of Service Agreements, meaning that you are likely to find one that matches your needs.

First, there’s the Standard Service Agreement. Such an agreement includes a yearly inspection of pumps, motors, wear parts by a Grundfos service engineer. After the inspection, you will receive a report on your system’s condition and whether it is in need of service.

Next, there’s the Customised Agreement. In short, it allows you to stay ahead of maintenance needs at all times by including a pick and mix selection of options and add-ons.

Finally, there’s the Performance Agreement, in which we ensure that you always get the necessary result regardless of what it takes. Such an agreement is designed to give you the ultimate peace of mind and is typically used in productions that require specific results, such as ensuring a certain water flow.

All three of these Service Agreements allow you to choose between two different service strategies. One includes repair services, and the other includes maintenance agreements such as operational or optimisation services. Let’s take a closer look.

Imagine if you’ve just bought a high-quality Grundfos pump. You may be thinking: “Great, this pump is high-quality, I won’t need to service it!”

"However, high-quality pumps – just like high-quality cars – need to be serviced regularly to maintain the best possible performance.

If not, you risk a production breakdown that could potentially cost you millions."

Rest assured that if there is a breakdown, Grundfos will fix it within hours. While a service strategy like this is sufficient for some productions, others may find it a bit risky due to not only production downtime but also the fact that you’re left unaware of any indirect costs and optimisation possibilities.

On the contrary, the other service strategy allows you to act in advance to ensure that everything is always running smoothly.

So, instead of risking breakdowns and failures, Grundfos will regularly inspect your installation or carry out other necessary tasks as per the Service Agreement we made with you, providing you with insight into your installation’s status and condition. That way, you can also run a fixed maintenance budget.

A service strategy like this is ideal for any productions who value peace of mind highly as it will reduce your risk of having to perform unforeseen maintenance.

It will also provide you with a great chance to always ensure that your production is running optimally – an important factor in improving your environmental footprint. Let’s take a look at an example.

A Grundfos employee is performing an inspection of a customer’s production as per the Service Agreement.

During this inspection, he tightens a couple of loose screws and notices that the shaft seal and bearings are in a bad state.

Having seen this, he offers the customer to replace both the shaft seal and the bearings.

By doing so, the risk of a potential breakdown is reduced.

To sum up, while a service strategy that includes only repair services is sufficient for some productions, the only way to reduce the risk of breakdowns, be aware of any optimisation possibilities, and set a fixed maintenance budget is by selecting a service strategy that includes pre-planned maintenance agreements.

Furthermore, as technology continues to develop, future digital offerings will allow us to provide true data-driven insights which can optimise your productivity even further.

That just about covers Service Agreements. If you would like to find out more, feel free to check out our website.
