No clogging, no overheating – and free passage of particles

If your customer doesn’t have problems, you won’t have problems either – and the key to future-proofing and staying competitive is a trouble-free wastewater installation.

Grundfos has developed state-of-the-art technology for wastewater pumps based on an open impeller that allows free passage of big particles. This helps prevent clogging of wastewater systems and provides smooth operations with no downtime and a prolonged lifecycle.

In some cases, wastewater with high levels of solids, such as is found in the meat industry, and clogging solids, such as in the textile industry, requires pumps with impellers with a wider free passage.

The Grundfos SE/SL and the SEG grinder pumps used for industrial wastewater pumping come with different types of impellers to match your specific wastewater demands. Grundfos can also deliver customised hardened impellers and white irons for specific applications, such as abrasive applications in automotive wastewater.

Grundfos SE and SL pumps

Grundfos SE and SL range of submersible wastewater pumps are available with various type of impellers to ensure minimum clogging and maximum reliability without compromising free passage or total system efficiency.

SEG pumps

Grundfos SEG pumps are available with semi-open impellers with a grinder system (cutter) to help reduce the length and size of wastewater solids.

Semi-open impeller

Description
Heavy-duty cast iron semi-open multi-channel impeller with 5 mm free passage and build in adjusting nut for resetting impeller clearance.

Material grades
Impeller: Cast iron (EN-GJI-200)
Adjusting nut: Stainless steel (1.4057)

Grinder system

Description
Hardened stainless steel grinder system consisting of a stationary ring and a rotating cutting head. The stationary ring is fitted to the pump housing in front of the inlet to the pump. The rotating cutting head is fitted to the rotor shaft.

Material grades
Cutting ring and cutting head: Stainless steel (1.4542)
Adjusting nut: Stainless steel (1.4057)
