Football interested eyes around the world will be fixed on Russia for the next month, when the football world championship is decided on the pitches in the world’s largest country.

Players and spectators alike are ready to take the stage and compete to find the best of the best. And when the stadiums are filled, and the game is on, there are also several important actions behind the scenes to make sure that everything connected to the games run smoothly.

Grundfos has supplied almost 850 units installed across the stadiums, providing entire systems for some of them, including water supply, heating and ventilation, drainage, cooling and firefighting systems.

“The football world championship is a huge event, so playing such a large part in it is very significant for us. For instance, providing so many pumps to Luzhniki Stadium, the biggest stadium in the country, and the venue for the final, has well and truly cemented our position in Russia. We like to place ourselves alongside the best, and this project puts us together with the best athletes and the best sport in the world. It has been a long process, but definitely one that has been really positive for us,” says Alexander Gatsenko, Head of Sales Group at Grundfos Russia.

Grundfos is particularly present at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Kaliningrad Stadium and Rostov Arena.

The world championship kicks off at the Luzhniki Stadium on 14 June, when hosts Russia takes on Saudi Arabia, and it concludes at the same venue on 15 July. When the winner is decided.
