All over the world, we’re fighting climate change. It’s a battle we can’t afford to lose. But by embracing the momentum of every small action, then together, we’ll make waves for change.
Small actions that make an impact
Changing lives in Malawi
In Malawi, only 63% of the rural population have access to basic drinking water, while only 41% have access to sanitation. And with climate change getting worse, the country is becoming increasingly affected by extreme weather such as droughts and floods.
At the Men's EHF EURO 2024, Grundfos will highlight and support parts of Malawi's population by awarding a donation of more than DKK 2,400 to the best player of each match during the 65 games in the tournament. Each donation will help to improve the maintenance of wells and water systems in rural Malawi. Furthermore, it will aid the training of volunteers, teaching them how to test water quality, how to sanitise properly, and how to safely discharge wastewater. The donations are expected to improve the water supply for around 11,000 people in need in Malawi.
