Grundfos to acquire the Commercial & Industrial business of Culligan
22-May-2024
The new acquisition strengthens Grundfos’ water treatment portfolio.
Grundfos has entered into an agreement to acquire Culligan’s Commercial & Industrial business in Italy, France and the UK. The acquired business is headquartered out of Bologna, Italy, has around 400 employees, and had a 2023 turnover of more than EUR 100m. This marks another important milestone in Grundfos’ ongoing effort to pioneer solutions that tackle global water challenges.
Grundfos is today a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technologies and the acquisition of Culligan’s Commercial & Industrial business is seen as a significant growth opportunity.
The acquisition follows a series of other Grundfos acquisitions within water treatment; EUROWATER (2020), MECO (2021) and Water Works (2022) and aligns with Grundfos’ strategy to strengthen its innovation leadership within water technology. The acquired business will become part of Grundfos Water Treatment, a business unit within the Grundfos Industry Division, and help Grundfos pursue further growth in Europe:
“The acquired Commercial & Industrial business of Culligan is known for their excellent products, service offerings, innovation and customer focus. Together with our current water treatment business we aim to create a strong European water treatment market leader. We are excited about the prospect of serving our customers with an even broader range of solutions and services, and I look forward to welcoming many new great colleagues” says Inge Delobelle, EVP & Divisional CEO of the Industry Division, Grundfos.
The transaction is subject to closing conditions including regulatory approvals. Closing is expected in the second half of this year. Until then, Culligan’s Commercial & Industrial business and Grundfos will continue to operate as separate entities.
