Grundfos received certificate for working environment

The certificate was presented by the Danish Standards Association.
When in 1996 Grundfos was certified according to the international environmental standard of ISO14001 as well as the European EMAS registration, the company chose to include the working environment although this was not requested by the environmental standards.

Whereas the attention on the working environment so far has primarily been limited to declarations of intent, the OHSAS 18001 certification means that data concerning the working environment will now be collected systematically and entered into Grundfos' present standards. In addition goals will be set concerning the working environment. In other words, the environment will be structured and in closer focus.

Questions regarding the working environment include evaluations of workplaces, industrial injuries, noise, chemicals, pregnancy, health promotion, social conditions and one-sided labour. All working environment data are entered into an internal database and so all staff at Grundfos have access to information about the development of goals and improvements.

Established in 1999 as a British standard, this was the first time the Danish Standards Association presented the certificate of OHSAS 18001, which is on its way to becoming an international standard.

With the new certificate Grundfos is in possession of all environmental certificates - the ISO 14001, EMAS, and OHSAS 18001. The Danish Standards Association twice a year carries out audits assessing Grundfos' observance of the standards.
