A Turkish resort cuts down OPEX and improves guest comfort with pumping system upgrade
The Situation
In 2022, Grundfos Turkey undertook a replacement project of an old booster set with low efficiency and high running cost in a major luxury hotel. These booster sets required a large amount of maintenance due to constant failures and had excessive power consumption issues.
This was not the first time Grundfos was a solution provider for this customer.
The Solution
To solve their operational problems, the hotel sought assistance from Grundfos Turkey, as the customer-centric approach that Grundfos Turkey embodies provided confidence that they could create an energy-efficient solution.
Their shared history of successful collaboration had demonstrated that Grundfos Turkey was capable of provided a tailored solution from product to system design, giving their client confidence that this project would meet their expectations.
“This was not the first time Grundfos was a solution provider for this customer,” says Tayfun Gündüz, Grundfos Turkey’s Senior District Manager. “We had supported them technically in many other projects.”
To reduce the resort’s energy consumption, Grundfos Turkey implemented a series of measures that include the upgrading of their hydro-pneumatic booster systems with IE5 motors, and replacing their inefficient HVAC circulation systems with TPE3 pumps and Control MPC systems.
With a new HYDRO MPC E system, excessive system pressure was controlled with proportional pressure control ensuring water pressure when and where it’s needed. Insufficient water pressure in showers is one the major contributors to guest complaints in any luxury resort
The Outcome
Overall, the new design and installation by Grundfos Turkey has helped the resort achieve their expectations of an approximate 20% reduction in energy consumption, along with associated savings in time, maintenance, and cost.

Satisfied with the successful delivery of the renovation project undertaken by Grundfos for the pumping system, resort management offered two further projects to Grundfos Turkey.
