Grundfos seminar on SMART solutions for residential buildings

The event, which attracted a packed audience of 54 leading consultants from the residential sector, focused on how the latest generation of Grundfos SMART solutions combine ‘intelligent’ pumps, cloud connectivity and digital services to optimize all domestic pumped systems and deliver outstanding control and predictability in water and waste-based services.

Discussions centered around SMART domestic hot water recirculation systems which deliver instant hot water on demand, cutting water wastage during warm-up and saving electricity, while providing a much more convenient and comfortable option for residents.

Grundfos experts stressed the importance of pump design and construction – especially in hot water systems, where pumps transferring water between the mains supply and hot water system must be approved for drinking water use, and therefore need to feature WRAS/ACS approved materials.

The consultants were shown a number of special SMART demonstration units in action and were able to see for themselves the compact design, which combines pumps, drives, controls and protection, sensors and advanced communication systems into single autonomous units, which react automatically to changes in demand and supply pressure, ensuring optimum efficiency at all times.

Feedback from the consultants was extremely positive, with many recognising the benefits that the new systems will bring to residents and homeowners, as well as house builders and designers.

Rounding off the day, Grundfos General Manager, Kostas Poulopoulos said, “SMART pump technology is driving a revolution in domestic, commercial and industrial applications across the Middle East. It not only has massive benefits for those directly involved but is helping governments achieve their increasing demanding targets for energy reduction, water conservation and the environment.
