About us
Meet Brad – our people person on the road
Brad Slagle, Key Account Manager
Who am I
After graduating from college with a business major in Missouri, I gained some working experience before joining Grundfos in 2014 as an Application Engineer. Afterwards, I was a District Sales Manager for three years in Chicago before moving back home to Kansas City to be a Key Account Manager.
Working with customers is like a puzzle you got to figure out – how to differentiate yourself and Grundfos from the competitors
How I make a difference
I manage the relationships between Grundfos and our industrial water treatment customers. The premium product is what’s going to set us apart from our competitors, but I’m also able to take our ideas and direction and align them with our customer’s needs. I am the link between Grundfos and our customers, aligning two sets of core values and offering solutions.
Having been able to take what I’ve learned about water treatment and Grundfos from my previous job roles within engineering and sales and apply it to my current position, I have been quite successful in my job. And this has been recognised. My biggest accomplishment is being selected for the ‘Reach for the Stars’ programme in 2018, which is a global recognition programme. I was invited to go to Portugal with my wife to participate in a project – that was really great and something I will remember.
What drives me
I really like to learn. And getting up every day with the opportunity to learn something new, to better myself in Grundfos, is something I truly value. Travelling quite a bit can sometimes be tiresome, but I enjoy my role and especially the people I get to work with – the people I interact with on a daily basis and the relationships that I have formed at Grundfos both locally and in the rest of the world.
Working with customers is like a puzzle you’ve got to figure out – how to differentiate yourself and Grundfos from the competitors. And it’s always changing and there are always new projects, always new people. There is a lot of value to that and I see myself working at Grundfos for a very long time.
Grundfos put a lot of emphasis and resources into providing a good workplace. And with a family to care for, amazing benefits are always a plus. There are a lot of great things going on behind the scenes besides just selling a good product or solution.
Grundfos has a great company culture with values that I appreciate in an employer. It is a real family environment where people are open and always willing to help.
That special culture
Grundfos has a great company culture with values that I appreciate in an employer. It is a real family environment where people are open and always willing to help. Willing to teach you and willing to be taught. It’s a very encouraging culture where you get a lot of opportunities. I do not have a true engineering background, but Grundfos gave me the opportunity to be an engineer. Grundfos took a chance hiring me and it has opened doors and taken me places that other companies have not – especially on a global level.
Fun fact
I once hit a home run off Max Scherzer, the best pitcher in baseball.
