Homeowner benefits

Gain insight into the four main benefits of the new ALPHA HWR and ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM range and how they can benefit homeowners in their daily lives.

In this module, you’ll learn how the new ALPHA HWR and ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM range can benefit homeowners in their daily lives.
The main benefits we will cover are:
AUTOADAPT,
Homeowner scheduling,
Shower temperature balancing,
And bleed over reduction.

Let’s begin with AUTOADAPT.
AUTOADAPT is a plug-and-play control mode that optimises the pump’s performance, helping homeowners save on energy costs while ensuring they always have hot water.

The ALPHA HWR and ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM are designed with an integrated Bluetooth timer so you can customise the pump’s operating periods.
Through the Grundfos HOME app, homeowners can decide what hours of the day they want the pump to run. The app allows running times to be updated as the homeowners’ needs change.

This can ensure homeowners benefit from:
Optimal comfort, Minimised power consumption, and Reduced heat energy loss from the pipes.

The ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM helps prevent sudden increases in water temperature. These can occur when a pump turns on in a system without a dedicated hot water return line. The cross over valve doesn’t allow much water to flow to the cold side, so the hot side gets an increase in pressure.

Many older pressure-balance shower valves can’t compensate for the sudden hot water boost when the pump turns on, so the shower gets really hot, really fast. To overcome this issue, the ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM slowly increases the flow upon start up to reduce sudden increases in water temperature felt at the tap. This helps enhance homeowner comfort.

The ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM also offers bleed over reduction. In systems without a dedicated return line, the COMFORT SYSTEM valve is partially open most of the time allowing warm water to bleed over into the cold-water supply line.
When this happens, homeowners can:
Experience discomfort as warm water comes out of the cold tap.
Waste water when running the tap, waiting for it to turn cold.
Waste energy, resulting in increased electricity bills.

To solve these problems, the ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM’s AUTOADAPT setting analyses the system performance and learns when the COMFORT SYSTEM valve is closed.
This allows the ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM to react quicker to a closed valve by turning off the pump. This puts a stop to warm water continuously bleeding over into the cold-water supply line. As a result, homeowners can enjoy enhanced comfort as the amount of warm water experienced from the cold-water tap is reduced.
That covers how the ALPHA HWR and ALPHA COMFORT SYSTEM range can benefit homeowners in their daily lives.
