Boiler shunt
The primary task of the boiler shunt is to ensure that the difference in temperature between the top and the bottom of the boiler is not too high. A high temperature difference can cause tensions in the material and thus reduce the life of the boiler.
The boiler shunt pump circulates the water from the flow pipe into the return pipe or directly into the boiler. Max. temperature difference is approx. 10-20 °C. For certain types of fuel, very low temperatures can cause corrosion at the bottom of the boiler.
Grundfos supplies a range of speed-controlled TPE and UPS circulator pumps that integrate as boiler shunt pumps to ensure maximum safety and optimal energy-efficiency.
